V2: Questions and Suggestions

Hello Matthias,

I updated my favorite app to V2 today and immediately switched to the paid version. I really like the new version at first glance, and I think it’s great that there is a browser version where the data is backed up. Here are a few questions about the new app:

  1. Is Vmax absolute no longer displayed? (I understand that Vmax 2sec is more meaningful, but for motivation when reaching personal benchmarks, I always found Vmax as an additional indication very helpful. Can it still be read somewhere?)
  2. In the old app, I really liked the compact overview on one page. This allowed, for example, to easily share sessions with friends via screenshot and see at a glance how the session was. It would be cool if you could switch to the old view for that. I also miss the view of the annual hit rate and Vmax in the header in V2.
  3. For me, an ancient session shows a wrong V2, which is displayed as the annual best value. Can you edit/hide it somehow without deleting the session completely?
  4. Is the hit rate measured differently? My values have changed drastically after the update.

Best regards

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Thank you very much for this excellent feedback and your support, it motivates us to keep going

Regarding your questions:

  1. You can no longer read the vMax yourself. It was simply too inaccurate. The goal should be to achieve it in 2s (and then 10s, etc.). The only way to read the 1s value is by zooming into the Speed Graph at the points with the top speed and then pressing and holding (you can also press and drag).

  2. Both are coming soon. However, V2 will receive a feature to create an image so you can avoid taking a screenshot. You can view the fall rate in the insights. To do this, you only need to set the fall filter to “Trend.” Then you can directly compare the rate and the trend, year by year or month by month.

  3. Unfortunately, this is not yet possible. What you could do is assign the session to a different sport or discipline, then you can filter it out of the actual sport. Or check if you have another source for the old session, as in V1 only GPX files were supported, but the original might have been a FIT file that didn’t contain the spike.

  4. Yes, V2 has a new algorithm. It can do more than just calculate the falls.
Do the values differ for all sessions? And is the wind direction also correct?

Best regards

Hello Matthias,

Thank you very much for your quick and comprehensive response as always.

I’m glad to hear that the overviews are still coming.

You’re probably right about the Vmax, but it was still nice to see it when it was in a plausible range in relation to the Vnax 2sec.

My jibe rate has changed significantly in total:

2026 V1: 164 jibes, 51 %
2026 V2: 50 jibes, 84 %

Since I’m currently working intensively on planing through, the weak rate from V1 is plausible - I was actually often in the water. The number of jibes also fits better with the V1 values (total distance of about 280 km, mostly at one spot with mostly about 1km long runs and a low rate of jibes (I estimate well below 10%)).

Best regards
Thomas

Hello,

the deviation should not be that strong.
In the new version you can display the necks. To do this, go to Insights in the necks, and then scroll down a bit where the list of necks per type begins. (Over the individual) You can press it then all will be displayed. It is normal that not 100% of all are recognized correctly because the GPS has a certain inaccuracy, but most of them should fit.
If not, it would be good if you could send me the original file so that I can see where the algorithm has its problems.
