My interest is whether it would be possible to integrate a feature that would allow a session to be displayed in the form of a “tachometer” representation as a video, e.g. mp4.
I took a look at the Dashcam program, which is freely available on the market, but somehow that’s too much for me. You have to store movies, etc.
Sure, it can be configured well, but in my opinion it’s not necessary at all.
My idea was to play the entire session as an mp4 video file on a greenscreen, and this could then be overlaid on video files if needed. But if you don’t have that, just displaying the speed over the session would already be interesting. You just let it run in the app and I make a video with the screen video function.
Maybe also include the course display next to it. It’s a gimmick but I think it would be quite interesting, especially when and where you accelerate.
This would still give you the option to overlay it on an action cam if you have footage. Not everyone has a GoPro with GPS.
You can find various options online, some of which cost money, some don’t, but I find the operation rather cumbersome.
Your idea would indeed be interesting, as it could also be used to compare with external video material, allowing for even more technical analysis of your sessions.
However, it’s not quite that simple, and it’s also not 100% in the focus of WindsportTracker. I could imagine something like this being done in a more general way.
For example, an app where you input GPS data and it generates a Greenscreen speedometer from it.
Currently, I’m working on another very large update, which is why I unfortunately don’t have time for something like this before 2022. But since it can be independent anyway, maybe someone else will find a way to implement it?
thank you for your response.
I will speak with my colleague from IT to see if he knows someone or can program something like this himself. What you wrote would be completely sufficient in itself. Many thanks and keep up the good work…
