Hello, I used to be a WST user when it worked offline. Now that everything is online, I no longer feel very concerned, and I haven’t reopened it since the update that changed this. However, today I’d like to recover the tracks I had already recorded. Are they still accessible on my Android phone? If so, where, please? At the time, I saw that it had uploaded a lot of things. Could I recover them from there instead? If so, how, please? Because today, when I launch the app, it only asks me to subscribe, and I don’t have access to anything.
Once I have recovered my data, what is the procedure for deleting it from your servers?
WindsportTracker V2 is a significant step forward from the offline-only V1. Your sessions are automatically backed up and accessible across all your devices — Android, iOS, and on the web at app.windsporttracker.com (great for reviewing sessions on a big screen). V2 also brings detailed statistics, wave analysis, downwind/upwind analysis, VMG analysis, live weather condition tracking, session replay, and much more that simply wasn’t possible without a powerful backend.
The subscription covers the ongoing infrastructure costs (servers, development), which are substantially higher than V1. All data is stored in Germany and processed under German data protection standards (GDPR).
To get you access to your recorded sessions, I’ve activated a 7-day trial for your account — just open the app and log in. You’ll be able to view and export your sessions — and take the new features for a spin while you’re at it.
If you’d like to delete your account and all data afterwards, you can do so directly in the app under Profile → Delete account.
I can understand the motivations and the benefits that some people will find in it, and I can indeed see the new features. But for me, having an offline application was a major advantage. I suppose it’s not always possible to meet everyone’s requirements.
I’m sorry, I have another question. I must not be looking in the right place, but I can’t find how to download everything at once. Could you please explain it to me?
For the bulk export: a “download all” option is not yet available in V2, but I can prepare all your session files manually. To do so, please send a short email to support@sunbits.de from the address you used to register, confirming that I may temporarily change your account password to access and export your data. Once I receive that, I’ll prepare everything and send it over.
