Hello, I recently subscribed, and my last two sessions were recorded incorrectly. I did a 3-hour session, but the app only recorded 45 minutes, and yesterday I did a 1-hour session, but only 20 minutes were recorded. I use my phone in a pouch under my wetsuit, as before, and it used to work very well.
Also, when saving, the session time and kilometers are higher before saving (yesterday 44 km, then when I saved it went down to 2 km).
There’s also the fact that I forgot my password, and I wasn’t able to use the forgot password option to change it and log in here, so I’m giving you my username navy_DarkWaves_0754, and the email address is the correct one.
I hope my message was clear.
Have a good day, and I hope to hear back from you.
Thank you for your detailed message — here are some ideas for solving these issues.
Truncated Sessions / Incorrect km This is likely due to Android battery optimization — these settings are often reset after a system update. Can you check that the app is excluded from all battery optimizations? This site lists the steps depending on your device: https://dontkillmyapp.com/
For the km: do you see 44 km during recording, and only 2 km once the session is saved? If so, can you send me the original file of the session to support@sunbits.de? In the app: open the session → Info section → anchor icon → Download original. Also, please let me know the Quality Score displayed in that same section.
Login / Password Your account is registered via Google — therefore, there is no WindsportTracker password. You must log in using the “Continue with Google” button. The “Forgot password” function does not apply in this case. (I’m noting this point — I will improve this error message to make it clearer in the future.)
Thanks for the files — I was able to analyze the issue.
The recording did run throughout the entire session, but the GPS signal was absent or very poor most of the time, which caused the data that was too inaccurate to be rejected. That’s why the displayed distance is so low.
The likely cause: neoprene strongly blocks the GPS signal. If the phone was positioned with the antennas facing down in the pouch, that further worsens reception.
For best results, the ideal position is on the shoulder (upper arm), or in a chest pocket but outside the neoprene.
