I discover the V2 (trend button)

Hello,

:open_mouth: So many changes since V1. I’m going to make you laugh
 phone change + big boo-boo + mtétéo
a while ago, I discovered a WST icon on my phone. It vaguely rings a bell, but it doesn’t look like anything I’ve known. I configure it, the app automatically retrieves my navigations from my (new) watch
 so I play along.

Today, the trial period is going to end
I look in detail at what WST corresponds to. I love being able to consult my stats on my computer screen (at my age, size matters a lot:ok_hand:)

I’m just a little disappointed by the overall analyses, especially the “trend” button which doesn’t provide anything
but at some point I have a doubt. So, I spent time extracting 60 GPS traces (one by one!) from another app. The import here is super good :ok_hand::ok_hand:

There, the analysis takes on its full dimension :+1: and the trend button finally displays something

It’s by registering on the forum (which recognized that my account already existed) that I finally realize. I remember the “little” app (which must have been V1). So allow me to first address all my congratulations for the immense work done. It motivates me even more to pay for the subscription :+1:

Then
well, I wanted to point out the “not very selling” aspect of the analysis during the trial period. And so, the trend button could possibly gain a bit of charisma if behind it you could add an analysis period (years, months, week). I understand that the week doesn’t make much sense
if not to show the value of the analysis and give people the desire to subscribe (just like for me, the trigger was uploading 3 years of kitefoil to see what it gives)

Once again, receive all my congratulations for the excellent job you have done. The evolution is truly phenomenal.

PS: small additional modification request = for the equipment, could you make the year non-mandatory?

It’s not an important criterion for me, on the other hand, I’m tearing out a handful of hair every time to find out when I was able to buy such and such equipment.
Even then, I can find the purchase dates, but I have no idea when the equipment was put into service when I buy (for example) a second-hand kite.

Hi,

thank you for the feedback and the kind words. That’s motivating and helps a lot when deciding what to build next.

You’re right about the trends. If there isn’t enough data yet, the app currently just shows nothing, which is confusing. I need to add a clear hint so users understand that more data is required before a trend can be displayed. Thanks for pointing that out.

Regarding the year and month: if you select a single year in the filter at the top, the trend will be calculated only for that specific year.

About the mandatory year field: it’s required because the year is one of the key attributes shown in the equipment list. If you don’t know the exact year, you could simply use the year you bought the gear. If the year doesn’t matter to you at all, you could also use a fixed value like 2000 just to keep things consistent.

Would that work for you?
