# Vmax over 1 second

The 1-second value is intentionally not shown as the top speed in WST, because it’s highly susceptible to GPS spikes inherent to public GNSS systems. WST uses the best 2-second value as top speed instead, which is the standard in competitive windsports timing.
To find your 1s value anyway:
1. Open the session’s **Speed Details** and switch to the **Speed Chart** (on mobile, tap the chart icon in the top right; on desktop it’s shown by default).
2. Select **2s** from the list — this highlights the best 2-second interval in the chart.
3. Zoom into that section of the chart. You can also tap the **2s marker on the map** to jump directly to that position in the chart.
4. Once zoomed in, **press and hold** to drag along the chart — it will display the instantaneous 1s value at each point.
The best 1s speed will typically be found within or very close to the best 2s interval.
